The Canadiens over the B's - no way! Also like CBJ to make it to the playoffs again this year.

I agree. The Hawks, Wings and Jackets should make the 1st round and don't count out the Blues. Four teams from the Central would be cool.

The B's will be there.

Still like the Habs after that injury?

I am cautiously optimistic about Tampa's chances of stealing the 7th or 8th spot in the East...its gonna depend on if their netplay can step up.

Downtown, are you talking about the injury to Markov? If so, yes that hurts but I still like their chances. Hey one cannot always go with the expected.

Tampa? I've got some land I want to sell...

Isles and Pens at 7:00 tonight.

Nice start for the CBJ. always have a tough time with the Wild.

Hey, 2 pts ahead of the Wings and a game in hand! :wacko2: Where do I buy my playoff tickets.

3 goals in 3:34 minutes against the Canucks tonight. I was glad to see them get that last PP goal too. Before that, they had only three shots on two PPs  If Columbus wants to keep making progress as a team and franchise, they HAVE to perform better on the PP this year.

They have depth on their lines and that helps a lot. I was at the game last night and the goal that Rick Nash had was nasty.

Great early season action in the NHL especially with the Jackets off to a great start at 5-2-0 (Nash 11 pts).

Pittsburgh is off and running with an 8-1-0 record behind netter Fleury (8 wins), Malkin (11 pts) and Sid (8 pts). But the Pens just got a blow with blueliner Gonchar breaking a few bones.

Ovechkin (16 pts) and Backstrom (11 pts) are leading the Caps (4 wins /10 points). Boston, Montreal and Carolina are below .500 but that will change.
arolina
Newcomers Moulson and Tavares are leading the Isles with 7 points each. Where they are leading them is still be to determined.

Hey, how bout them Aves (6-1-1) and Yotes (5-2-0)? Check out Detroit (3-3-1), Ducks (3-3-1) and Canucks (3-5-0).

Early season hockey is fun but it is what it is - early season hockey. Game on!

Blue Jackets fire Ken Hitchcock and replace him with asst. coach Cluade Noel. We will see if an up tempo system is installed.

I liked Hitchcock and he was great for what they needed two years ago...
unfortunately his style didn't mesh with the roster...

Nash can play any style and Umberger, Modin and Torres (the latter two missing time) are fine with the Hitch style...

but a team built to have Huselius, Brassard, Voracek in their top 6? come on... that square pegs in round holes!
and when you have 3 of your top 6 playing out of position (and really 3 of the top 5 as the team typically lacks a true 6th person for those lines... and when you play Hitch's style Brassard isn't a fit either! so your top 6 just isn't matching up with other teams top 6! That don't work!

even the 3rd/4th liners like Vermette (yea he's asked to play up but...) and Dorsett (who's hyper active but would fit better in an open style!)

Pahlsson was a good add and fit Hitch's style but again... 3rd liner for a specific thing

even on defense:
the pathetic power play last year forced more play from Stralman and Russell
and when that's 1/3 of your defensemen rotation it's hard to think you are going to be a tough, nononsense D... (they are offensive defenseman and not very big)

throw the Filitov thing in there...
and the fact that Torres and Modin won't be here much longer (FA to be likly will be traded)

this team doesn't have the roster to move forwarwith Hitch's style...

not his fault...
just a bad match right now
Most of that was covered up last year by MAson playing on his head...
