Predictions? Expectations?
Write 'em down here.

1/2. Heath/Newark Cathlolic: With Megan White at Heath and the two remaining Blair sisters at NC shooting the lights out of everyone, these will be (IMO) the top two teams this year
3. Granville: With the loss of 3 starters and 5 seniors overall, the league co-champs is going to have to adjust to the decrease in size and numbers this year, but don't count them out of the race.
4/5.Columbus Academy: yeah yeah, I might get laughed out of the thread with this one, but I definitely saw improvement with a very talented freshmen class last year, who knows what will happen
4/5. Licking Valley: I saw promise with some underclassmen with some talent
6. Bexley: What is Bexley going to do without Ashley Dennis? Not much
7. Whitehall
8. Lakewood

Wow, just read the preview in This Weeks News, and it says Heath only has six varsity players, with no mention of Body, does anyone know if she is on the team? Could play a major role in how the MSL-Ohio shapes up, they still have White but with only six girls fouls and injuries could have a drastic effect on them.

they'll probably be able to move some JV kids up as the season goes on for depth but yea... given the pace they like to play that will be an issue probably.

Body is not playing. Heath better hope White never has an off night but expect Mitchell to score inside. Not much on JV to bring up at this point in time. Heath has had issues with numbers for awhile now. I would think a uptempo team could run Heath ragged.

Good Luck to the Lady Dogs this season. Hopefully the other players will step up and not be afraid to take shots.

Wow, and Heath was ranked pre-season at 7th in the state at DIII in the OGBR preseason rankings. Looks like someone didn't do their homework on that ranking.
Still, I will take:
1- NC
2 - Heath
3 - Licking Valley
4 - Granville
5 - 8 - balance of the field a draw

that makes little sense
many people feel heath will have a good year

NC should def as well...

No doubt Heath should have a good year, but ranking them pre-season at #7 in the state in DIII with their lack of bench and losing their big inside girl. I feel that was a bit strong at this point. Then again, I guess the point of ranking teams is to create debate. Time will tell.

well the ranking did come out well before anyone knew who would actually be on their roster so who did or didn't come out isn't something they would have known...

I D3 NC and Heath are certainly two contenders for district titles... with Africentric of course... but Heath was a D3 district runner up that returned basically everyone and many of those kids were sophomores...

I can see why they'd make them #7 easily...
now with the current roster and what WILL happen? hard to say...

One thing I will say is from What I hear Newark Catholic will be very good... Heath will be strong... Granville will be tough...

I dont' know much about LV...
but Academy should take another step forward and could be THIS year's surprise team in the OHIO

Licking Valley has some good size and some very athletic kids, they don't have much experience and I am not sure about their guard play. If they can get it up the court and get in their offense they should be able to score. Would like to see them come out and play some pressure man to man defense, they could be very good at creating offense out of their defense. Should be competitive regardless.

Who does Newark Catholic have playing? I would of thought they would be down a little.

After watching N.C. last night they better rebound the basketball better. I still think they will be one of the top teams.

not a good Start to the season for the MSL - Ohio so far:

Heath loses to Utica
Granville loses to FU
NC loses to Zanesville
Lakewood loses to New Lex
LV loses to West M

Whitehall did beat Madison Christian

Academy and Bexley haven't started yet
